New York Knicks shooting guard Courtney Lee has a strained neck and did not practice Sunday. The Knicks open their preseason schedule Monday when they take on the Washington Wizards, and it is unclear if Lee will play.

Lee has two years and $25 million left on his contract. The 32-year-old signed a four-year, $48 million free agent deal with the Knicks in 2016. In 76 regular-season games last year, Lee notched 12.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 91.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Lee's name came up in trade rumors in the offseason. Marc Berman of the New York Post reported in August that the Knicks were looking to move the veteran guard because they want to give Tim Hardaway Jr. more playing time. New York has a handful of other young wings to play, including rookie Kevin Knox, Mario Hezonja and even Frank Ntilikina, though the latter will also play point guard.

In 753 games in the NBA, Lee has career averages of 10.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists with the Orlando Magic, New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets), Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Hornets and Knicks.
