The New York Knicks took on Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns on Monday night and it was a marquee matchup between two sides with playoff aspirations this season. Derrick Rose had to make his mark on the game early on and he did so by showcasing his highly impressive playmaking abilities.

Here's the Knicks veteran taking a page out of Chris Paul's playbook with a number of awesome dimes to his teammates (h/t SportsCenter on Twitter):

At this point in the game, it was Rose who stepped into the role of point god. For his part, Paul did not exactly have a stellar first half. The 11-time All-Star even had one of his passes picked off by Knicks big man Nerlens Noel of all people:

At 32 and 35 years of age, respectively, Derrick Rose and Chris Paul are undeniably at the twilight of their respective careers. Nevertheless, they both still have the ability to be the star of the show when the lights are the brightest. This time around, however, it was D-Rose who got the better of CP3.

The Knicks enter this matchup as the hottest team in the NBA. They are the winners of nine straight and are looking to make it 10 consecutive wins against the mighty Suns.
