Trae Young put on a show in Game 1 against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Atlanta Hawks guard capped his night with a game winning floater with 0.9 seconds left to catapult the Hawks in front for good with a 107-105 victory.

Knicks fans and others watching believed the whistle went heavily in favor of Young specifically as he went to the free-throw line time and time again in the final quarter. Young had nine free-throw attempts in the game, seven came in the final frame. Now, even New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is chiming in.

Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday while wearing a Knicks hat, Bill de Blasio didn't hold back his thoughts on Young getting all the calls.

That's the Mayor of New York straight up telling the Atlanta Hawks guard to quit hunting for fouls and to play the game the right way.

The last part is more than a stretch, Young is an excellent player but he does have the tendency to yell his way into getting foul calls, as was the case in Game 1 against the Knicks.

Seeing Bill de Blasio throw in his five cents on something like this is hilarious, political thoughts aside. It was Young though, who got the final laugh in Game 1.

Game 2 is set for Wednesday evening and if it's anything comparable to Game 1, it will be appointment television. The Garden is back rocking with 15,000 packed in and New York playoff basketball is back. Trae Young seems to enjoy the villain role, how will he respond to Bill de Blasio's comments?
