Under the watch of commissioners David Stern and Adam Silver the NBA has become a truly global game. This preseason, the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers traveled to China for an exhibition, but one fan from Indonesia traveled even further to cheer for his favorite player tonight, Allonzo Trier.

The Knicks played host to the Washington Wizards on Monday night. Despite a classic Knicks fake comeback, Washington was able to clinch the franchise's ninth straight victory at Madison Square Garden, 110-107. However, it was still a night to remember for the fan who, while holding a sign touting that he traveled 10,000 miles to cheer for the undrafted rookie, got to meet Trier before the game.

Trier struggled against the Wizards, tallying just two points and an assist in 15 minutes, but the 22-year-old has been turning heads in New York nonetheless. After spending three seasons at Arizona, Trier declared for the draft, but signed a two-way deal with the Knicks after not being selected.

Iso Zo, as fans came to call him, showed immediately that he belongs in the NBA, not the G-League. Trier is averaging 11.7 points per game in about 23 minutes per contest. He's shown an uncanny ability to get his own shot and get to the rim. He's been a reliable scorer for coach David Fizdale, who was given a roster of young players in need of development and former lottery picks who struggled in their previous situations.

Trier's game does need work, particularly his playmaking. He was pressed into playing more point guard in his final season at Arizona, but appears to get tunnel vision at points and is averaging two assists per game. With back up point guard Trey Burke sidelined with a knee injury and the 20-year-old Frank Ntilikina residing on the bench after back to back DNP coach's decision, Trier may have to spend more time at the position.

The Knicks are off until Thursday, when they'll head up to meet Boston for the third time this season.
