The New York Knicks ultimately weren’t involved in a trade for Eric Bledsoe, but they could make their own significant deal by Sunday. The Knicks need to make a move to open up a roster spot for Joakim Noah, who is set to return from his 12-game drug suspension. While they could simply waive someone, general manager Scott Perry also hasn’t ruled out a potential trade.

“We know that is looming,’’ Perry said per the New York Post’s Marc Berman. “We’re going to have to address the roster. We’ve been working through the process for a few weeks. By Sunday at 5 p.m., there’ll be a resolution one way or another. Whether it’s a trade or waive an individual.’’

There’s been significant noise surrounding Mindaugas Kuzminskas as the Knick player who will most likely be moved in a trade to accommodate Noah's return. After a solid rookie season, the Lithuanian has found playing time very hard to come by this season. He's played just two minutes in the team's first 11 games.

Meanwhile, veteran point guard Ramon Sessions could potentially be the main candidate to be released, especially with rookie Frank Ntilikina playing well and set to take up more minutes going forward.

Whatever Perry ultimately chooses to do, though, he better be careful not to disrupt the positive momentum the team has built up with their surprising 6-5 start to the season.
