If the New York Knicks are willing to trade up in the 2022 NBA Draft, a gem of a player could be waiting for them. That player is Jaden Ivey.

Ivey, a stud combo-guard from Purdue, is almost everyone's pick to go fourth overall in the Draft. The only problem is the team that currently has the No. 4 pick, the Sacramento Kings, likely doesn't need another guard to fold into their roster.

Enter the Knicks, who could potentially swing on a trade to move up in the draft order and snag Ivey to beef up their own backcourt.

Ivey himself mentioned to the New York Post that Sacramento isn't his preferred destination. The Kings haven't committed anything to him either.

“If I got drafted there, it wouldn’t be the worst option,” Ivey recently said of Sacramento.

That doesn't sound like someone excited to be a King.

Instead, he offered his own take on where he'd rather be.

“There could be situations where I can land in New York,” Ivey followed up. “I would be honored to be able to play there. They recently just made the playoffs two years ago. I feel like I could complement the organization and help them win if they drafted me.”

That makes sense. The Knicks do have RJ Barrett, who could form a terrific tandem with Ivey.

Having said that, it might take a lot for the New York Knicks to move up that high. The Kings are aiming to win now, so nothing short of that would push them to trade down the NBA Draft order.

This means that Knicks fans shouldn't toast their beer bottles just yet. A lot still needs to happen.

But they do happen, Jaden Ivey could be worth it.
