The New York Knicks may have suffered a painful loss at home on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls in double overtime, but they still had a few bright spots on the night. One of them is the stellar play of Jarrett Jack, who recorded his second career triple-double and only the first by any Knicks player since 2012 after Carmelo Anthony reached the feat during his heydays in New York.

Jack's inspired play also ended a long drought for the Knicks as each NBA team has had at least one triple-double from its player in the last six years except for them, the Brooklyn Nets, and Utah Jazz. The veteran point guard finished the game with 16 points, on 8-of-13 shooting from the field, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists across his name, to go along with two steals. He was also clutch in the last few seconds of regulation and the first overtime, as he made the right plays that extended the game and gave his team a chance to win.

Despite the loss, Jack has successfully proven that he is more than just a player reserved to the end of the bench, even after coming off an ACL injury only two seasons ago. He is also providing the Knicks with a lot of experience, which their younger players can learn from, including Frank Ntilikina, who is slated to be their point guard of the future.

If Jack can sustain the momentum he currently has as the season progresses, he would make it possible for the Knicks to contend for a playoff spot.
