Despite trade talks involving New York Knicks All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony simmering down, there remains a strong belief that he has played his last game for the franchise.

This was made more evident after the Knicks decided to leave him out of the latest round of season ticket promotions for the upcoming campaign.

Regardless of his standing with the front office, Anthony is still one of the primary pieces of the puzzle. This may signal the team's future importance on rising star forward Kristaps Porzingis, but it's a blatant shot at the 10-time All-Star.

The latest update on the trade discussions is that the Houston Rockets still hold interest but things between teams are “fairly dorminant.” The Rockets are the only team that Anthony has made it clear at this point that he wants to be traded to this offseason as he holds a strong desire to play alongside his close friend Chris Paul.

What has made this is a difficult process is that the 33-year-old possesses a no-trade clause that gives him the final say on any potential deal. It has also severely limited the number of possible trade scenario. He currently has two years left on his five-year, $124 million deal that possesses a $27.9 million player option for the 2018-19 season.
