Kyrie Irving always wanted to live in New York, but the All-Star guard had reservations about Knicks' management, according to Frank Isola of The Athletic.

Irving signed a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets. Kevin Durant, DeAndre Jordan and Garrett Temple are joining Kyrie in Brooklyn. It was a doomsday scenario for the Knickerbockers.

Needless to say, (Steve) Mills has some explaining to do. Is it at least fair to say that all that losing and the all the dysfunction at MSG continues to hurt the Knicks? Two New York area point guards, Kemba Walker and Kyrie Irving, are moving to new teams in the Atlantic Division and the Knicks can’t even get a meeting with either free agent. In fact, a source close to Irving said all along his dream was to live in New York but that he had reservations about Knicks management.

Why would any star free agent want to sign with the Knicks? James Dolan is the worst owner in sports. The franchise has been a walking disaster for years. The Nets, meanwhile, made the playoffs this past season and GM Sean Marks and head coach Kenny Atkinson are two of the brightest minds in basketball.

The Knicks used their cap space on Julius Randle, Taj Gibson, Bobby Portis, Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock.
