The NBA Draft is days away and teams are trying to figure out what they should do. Rumors have swirled and talks have opened up on possible trades leading up to Thursday. Now, the New York Knicks reportedly want to trade up in the draft, and are trying to package some picks in order to do so.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic:

“The Knicks are having discussions to try to trade picks Nos. 19 and 21 to move up in the draft, sources said.”

The Knicks currently have the 19th and 21st pick in the NBA Draft and could walk away with two young players, or one star young player. Due to the Knicks' current situation, adding one bonafide star might make more sense. They finished 4th in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round.

However, there is a lot to like about the Knicks roster, and adding a player in the 8-15 range (hypothetically) could help Tom Thibodeau's group make more strides in 2021.

Rumors will keep going until Thursday, but it appears that the Knicks are going to be active leading up to the draft, and even active during the draft as they hope to land another top-tier player in the NBA Draft.
