The Los Angeles Lakers have plenty of new faces this season with a few of the newcomers already making an impression. One of those players is rookie Kyle Kuzma who has been playing at a very high level during the NBA preseason thus far.

On Monday, fellow newcomer Brook Lopez spoke to the media following practice and had nothing but high praise for his rookie teammate. Lopez has been blown away by what Kuzma has been able to do on the basketball floor on a consistent basis.

“It's amazingly impressive,” Lopez said of Kuzma's play so far. “Obviously, we saw a glimpse of it in Summer League. Just showing how special he could be. He has the right confidence and a great opportunity here to go out and do special things for us. He definitely plays the right way.”

Kuzma has played all four preseason games for the Lakers at 27.3 minutes per contest. The Utah product is leading the team in scoring at 19.5 points per game while shooting 62 percent from the floor.

With Lonzo Ball on the shelf with an ankle sprain for two of the last four games, Kuzma has stolen spotlight as without a doubt the most impressive rookie on the team with the start of the regular season almost a week away on Oct. 19.

The real question moving forward is whether Kuzma's play has head coach Luke Walton and his coaching staff seriously considering giving the rookie a significant role on the team moving forward. It may not be out of the realm of possibility that Kuzma works his way into the starting lineup at some point as he's clearly shown he can thrive in this fast-paced offense.
