The Los Angeles Lakers just can't catch a break. Carmelo Anthony was forced to exit their contest against the Clippers due to injury.

The Lakers star went up off one foot for a routine jump shot over Marcus Morris and came down hobbling and grabbing at his right leg.

The injury is being called a right hamstring strain and will force him to stay on the Lakers sidelines for at least the remainder of the game. Whether he misses any further time still remains to be seen.

Via Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:

Carmelo Anthony is out for the rest of the game with a right hamstring strain.

Losing Carmelo Anthony for any extended amount of time would be terrible news for the Lakers. Melo was fresh off arguably his best performance of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers in their last game.

Anthony finished with 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting and five threes. He also added eight rebounds, two assists and two steals for good measure.

Injuries have come to define what has largely been a disappointing season for the Lakers thus far. With both LeBron James and Anthony Davis missing chunks of the season as well as several role players, LA simply can't stay healthy.
