Carmelo Anthony has been one of the biggest revelations for the Los Angeles Lakers amid what has been a slow start to the new campaign. Melo had another noteworthy outing in a 95-85 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday as helped LA improve to 4-3 on the season.

At this point, there is little doubt that Anthony has been an excellent addition for the Lakers. This is exactly what the 10-time All-Star had in mind as he sounded off on certain misconceptions about his adaptability:

“I think people don’t really understand me. I think there’s a misconception out there about me and not being able to adapt to situations,” Anthony said, via Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times. “But I’m easily adaptable, man, to any situation.”

Melo proved this notion yet again on Sunday after scoring a team-high 23 points off the Lakers bench. The 37-year-old went 5-of-8 from distance while also logging three rebounds, two steals, and four blocks in 25 minutes of action.

Anthony then went on to share why he's had such a seamless transition with the Lakers:

“I always try to adapt to every situation that I’ve been in,” Melo added. “Some better than others, but this is just an easy adaptation for me. Just being here, being around the guys, basketball minds that I’m around and also unselfish — just being ready. Just staying ready, understanding what’s needed from me on a night-to-night basis and just being prepared.”

In seven games for the Lakers thus far, Anthony has produced impressive averages of 16.7 points on 50.0 percent shooting while also draining 3.4 triples per contest on a highly-impressive 52.2-percent clip.
