The Los Angeles Lakers joined the LA Clippers on Thursday as being just one game away from reaching the Western Conference Finals. All signs have been pointing to a Clippers-Lakers West Finals showdown all year, but it's become far more of a reality over the last couple of days. With one win still needed against the Houston Rockets, Lakers guard Danny Green isn't worrying about Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers just yet.

The Lakers will play Game 5 against the Rockets on Saturday afternoon at 5PM PST. Green says he's not planning to watch the Clippers in anticipation of that matchup just yet.

“Like I said, I don't really watch for focus on any series outside of our won,” Green said at Lakers practice Friday. “We still have work to do. I’m focused on us and I’m focused on Houston right now. I’ll focus on the next task at hand if and when we get the job done, which to speak on how this series or other basketball games, I really don’t watch many basketball when I’m home. I like to take my mind away from the game and watch something different or do something different, whether it’s a hobby, watch a tv show, taking classes out here, but yeah. its interesting to see some of the scores and some of the guys play well.”

Aside from the Clippers-Nuggets game, the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors will play Game 7 of what has been an epic series over the last two weeks. Danny Green, who won an NBA Championship with the Raptors last year, says he'll be watching and cheering on his old teammates in the big game.

“Obviously, I root for some of my guys. I think the series everybody’s looking forward to watching that’s got great basketball going on is the Game 7 tonight. I don't think anybody’s gonna be too pressed to watch the — obviously it’ll be good basketball either way — but 3-1 is a little different situation than 3-3. A little bit more stakes at hand and that series has been unbelievable from start to finish so its been pretty unpredictable. I think that’s what most basketball fans want to see and want to watch.

“But yeah, I’ll prepare for the next opponent when we get there. We’ll focus on Houston right now.”

With a Clippers win Friday and a Lakers win Saturday, Danny Green will face his longtime former teammate in Kawhi Leonard for a chance to play for an NBA Championship in the NBA Finals.
