Despite his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers ending sooner than expected during last month's trade deadline, Isaiah Thomas was surprisingly in a good mood on Sunday before the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He even exchanged pleasantries with some of his former teammates, including LeBron James, J.R. Smith, and Kyle Korver.

When asked what kind of relationship he has with the Cavs players, the two-time All-Star point guard admitted that they were his close friends. Thomas then added that he is in the process of moving on from the Cavs, as he is now representing the Purple and Gold.

Thomas was shipped to Los Angeles as part of the deal that sent Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson to the defending Eastern Conference champions. Although he did not even spend a whole season with the Cavs, he was able to form strong bonds with his former teammates, and they continue to respect one another as seen during the pregame hugs and handshakes Thomas shared with them.

There was a lot of chatter prior to him getting traded that he did not get along well with James and company. There were also rumors that surfaced about some of the Cavs players not pleased with how he plays alongside them, and not complimenting their games well.

Now with the Lakers, Thomas has a chance to prove his worth again, and that his strong run with the Boston Celtics is not a fluke. It will also help him move on faster, as he holds no grudges against his then-teammates, and that they still treat him as a good friend.
