Kobe Bryant’s childhood home outside Philadelphia will hit the market for the first time since his parents first sold it in 2008, according to People.

The late Los Angeles Lakers legend, who died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, lived in the home until age 13. Bryant spent much of his childhood in Rieti, Italy, where his father Joe Bryant played professional basketball. Once his family relocated to Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, they moved into this Colonial-style house where the Lakers icon spent his middle and high school years.

That same home is for sale with an asking price of $899,900.

Yet the most appealing feature for Kobe Bryant fans is the backyard, which still features the original basketball hoop the soon-to-be Lakers icon practiced on growing up.

The seller, Kate Bayer, who once purchased the home from the Bryant family around 12 years ago, admits she is honored to have lived in the home for more than a decade:

“When we moved in, everyone  — and I mean everyone — asked, ‘do you know who lived there?’ she recalled. “They were excited. The mailman, trash collectors, every neighbor… people walking down the street.”
Now this home will be sold in the near future, hopefully to another buyer that can appreciate the history and significance of the place Bryant once resided in.
