Kobe Bryant can be regularly seen on TV again soon. However, it’s not because he’ll give his basketball career another try. Instead, the former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard will be hosting a show called Detail to be shown on ESPN+.

It’s a show Bryant is currently promoting ahead of its premiere on Thursday. The premise of the show is simple: the former NBA MVP will feature game films, which he would expertly break down and analyze. What makes it interesting is that it’s Kobe Bryant who’ll be dissecting the intricacies of the sport that gave him the riches and fame that were once unimaginable to him.

Bryant discussed his upcoming show a bit on Wednesday while speaking to reporters, including CluchPoints’ Ryan Ward.

Kobe Bryant on goal for his show Detail on ESPN+: “I feel like it is important for the next generation to learn how to watch film. How to study the game.”

Perhaps trying to drum up some more noise for his show, Bryant said that he would have learned from a program like it had one was around when he was just a kid growing up and dreaming of becoming a basketball superstar one day.

Kobe Bryant on his show Detail: “I feel like if this show was around when I was 10-11 years old, I would've gained so much insight. So much value from it that by the time I'm 22, 25, my knowledge of the game would be at a much, much higher level than my predecessors.”

In addition, the Lakers legend also explains his motivation and inspiration in coming up with this project.

“So I like it is part of my responsibility to give back to the next gen & try to share & teach some of the things that I have learned from some of the great players, great mentors, & coaches that I've had. So that's the idea of the show. It's to show the next generation.”

Detail will be shown exclusively on the new ESPN app – not on Channel 81.
