On Feb. 24 at Staples Center, the Los Angeles Lakers will host a Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant. Kobe and Gianna passed away along with seven others in a tragic helicopter crash on Jan. 26.

The event starts at 10:00 a.m. PT. The Lakers will be using Ticketmaster Verified Fan for ticket distribution.

Starting on Friday and running through Feb. 17, Lakers fans may register to purchase tickets at https://verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/kobeandgianna. No purchase is necessary to register. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.

On Feb. 19, tickets will be released for public sale. Fans with personal access codes will have access to purchase available tickets. Tickets will be priced at $224 each, two for $224 and $24.02 each.

The Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant will not be shown on any video screens or by any other means outside of Staples Center, including the L.A. Live video screens. There will also not be any overflow locations for members of the public to view the event, which will be shown live on most local Los Angeles television stations.

In the immediate aftermath of the helicopter crash, mourning fans created a Kobe memorial outside Staples Center. Every item that was left at the memorial came with a handwritten note. It's evident the passing of Kobe is going to take a long time to get over. Lakers players were very emotional against the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center during their tribute to Kobe, and this event on Feb. 24 will be similar. There won't be a dry eye in the house.

The Lakers retired Bryant’s No. 8 and 24 jerseys last year. The late basketball icon is set to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer as part of an incredible class later this year.
