Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis was forced to exit Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after sustaining what appears to be an ankle injury.

Late in the first quarter of the contest, Davis drove to the basket and fell after some scramble downlow. He appears to trip from the fallen Naz Reid, which is when he rolled his right ankle. He immediately went to the locker room to get it checked.

It is certainly not an ideal situation for the Lakers, who were already missing key players due to the health and safety protocols. The likes of Austin Reaves, Dwight Howard, Talen Horton-Tucker, Avery Bradley and Kendrick Nunn all entered the COVID protocols in recent days.

Fortunately for the Lakers, Anthony Davis was able to return to the bench and the game. However, there will certainly be fears and concerns with regards to his condition moving forward.

The biggest knock on Davis throughout his career is his ability to stay healthy. He is injury-prone, and that has been more prevalent than ever in his time with the Lakers.

Hopefully, though, his latest injury won't linger and affect him moving forward. The last thing the Lakers need right now is for another player to be sidelined due to varying circumstances.
