The Los Angeles Lakers comfortably won over the Washington Wizards, 103-125. This latest win establishes the Purple and Gold at the top of the Western Conference. However, that's not the only noteworthy thing about their 14-1 record in November.

ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward revealed that this is the first time in a good while that the Lakers have had a month this dominant. In fact, the last time they had a single-month win total this high was during the peak years of the Shaq-and-Kobe era during the 2000s.

The key men for the Lakers this month were nothing short of incredible against the Wizards. LeBron James is definitely thriving in his new role as point forward, finishing with 23 points, three rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, and a block on 58% shooting. Anthony Davis also had a solid night for the Lakers: he scored 26 points, made 13 boards, had two dishes, and rejected three shot attempts in only 27 minutes of play.

While this is a great feat for the Lakers, this is only a stepping stone for their real goal, which is winning the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Davis had this to say about the opportunity to win a championship with the Lakers, via Sports Illustrated's Jarrel Harris:

“Oh man, It would be super special. The Lakers are an historic franchise with 16 championships and to be in the conversation on that list of legends who won there it will be special for me, my family and the entire organization for all the players on the team that came together to sacrifice to be a part of something special. Obviously, it is a long way from now and we still have work to do and we know what our goal is and we are excited to even be in the conversation for an opportunity to win a championship.”

Given how well they've performed recently, it's more of a matter of when rather than if.
