The Los Angeles Lakers picked Lonzo Ball in the 2017 NBA Draft. However, had things turned out differently, it would have been an awkward situation for Zo.

In an appearance on House of Highlights, Lonzo admitted that he was wearing his Lakers shoes during draft night. Interestingly, it was the only shoes he had, which means that he would have been forced to wear it as well had Los Angeles passed and another team selected him.

The Lakers selected Ball with the second overall pick in 2017. A highly touted prospect coming out of UCLA, Lonzo was never shy in expressing his desire to wear the Purple and Gold.

While there were pre-draft speculations that the Lakers might pass on him because of his father, LaVar Ball, the team eventually decided to take Lonzo and make him their point guard of the future.

During his post-draft interview, Ball confirmed that he intentionally wore his Lakers shoes in anticipation that the team would draft him. However, it's still surprising that he didn't prepare a backup.

Not to mention that he admitted he only knew the storied LA franchise would select him during draft night.

It's a good thing the Lakers picked Lonzo Ball, but it's fun to imagine what could have happened if another team took him.
