Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball is bound to make his return to the starting lineup tonight against the Miami Heat, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

Josh Hart, who started in his place for the majority of his prolonged absence, will have his injured left hand examined and remain in L.A., giving the rookie the chance to get his spot back with the rotation.

With Isaiah Thomas likely ingrained in a bench role for the remainder of the season, Ball now has the chance to get the reins back in his hands at the right time, as his team has hit stride at the latter stretch of the season, winning three straight and seven of their last 10 games.

The Lakers have the chances to clean out this road trip after taking down three of the worst teams in the league in the Dallas Mavericks, the Sacramento Kings, and most recently the Atlanta Hawks. It will start tonight with the Heat, who are fresh off a game-winner from their talisman Dwyane Wade against the Philadelphia 76ers, and finish on Saturday against a struggling San Antonio Spurs team, who just fell to the fourth spot in the West.

Ball has yet to be cleared for back-to-backs, but looked his sharpest against the Hawks on Monday, shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field, including 3-of-3 from distance, filling out the stat sheet with seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a 123-104 win.
