The Los Angeles Lakers have shown plenty of promise in the 2017-18 NBA season behind their talented, young core of players. As a result, it seems Los Angeles will use the rest of the year to get a closer look at some of other younger guys to add to that group.

Among them has been small forward Travis Wear. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers have signed Wear through the rest of the season:

The Lakers are signing forward Travis Wear to a deal for the remainder of the season, league sources tell Yahoo. Wear's second 10-day deal expired tonight.

Wear had spent the majority of the season with the South Bay Lakers before he was promoted to the roster in March. He played well enough to earn a second 10-day contract following the Lakers loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night.

Wear is putting up 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 20 games with Los Angeles thus far. His best game came during a loss to the Miami Heat last week when he registered 11 points on a perfect night from the three-point line. Wear's skill set as a stretch-4 makes him a seamless fit in the Lakers' up-tempo offense. However, it is clear that the former UCLA product still has plenty of work to do.

That said, it seems Los Angeles is hoping to use these last 11 games to further evaluate Wear's skill set. The Lakers have sparked a serious youth movement under head coach Luke Walton. If they choose to move forward with this young group, then they will undoubtedly need to add more depth in the process.
