Los Angeles Lakers forward Luol Deng has recently made it known that he would like to be moved elsewhere. Prior to the 2017-18 NBA season, it was speculated that the veteran would essentially be relegated to a leadership role for this young Lakers team after a rough first year in Los Angeles.

However, Deng still has yet to see the floor since opening night versus the L.A. Clippers. But according to Bill Oram of the Southern California News Group,  Luol Deng's comments still have yet to become a distraction.

After signing a monster four-year deal with the Lakers prior to the 2016-17 NBA season, Luol Deng has since floundered in Los Angeles. He suffered career-lows in nearly every category last season, averaging 7.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game on 38 percent shooting.

Deng has been a healthy inactive since the season opener after playing just 13 minutes. The Lakers' bevy of young talent in the frontcourt, combined with his poor play recently has all but paved the way for Deng's departure.

Through it all, the Lakers' veteran forward has remained a constant professional as he has done so throughout his whole career. Perhaps his services could best be utilized by a more experienced team looking to take that next step in the playoffs.
