Montrezl Harrell of the Los Angeles Lakers has been in the news the last couple of days, but not because of anything he did on the court.

First, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year posted this ominous Tweet on his account:

Then, the Lakers big man followed with a post expressing that he missed his grandmother, who passed away last year in July, forcing Harrell to leave the NBA bubble:

Lakers owner Jeannie Buss responded to his comments with support, and his fans also sent words of encouragement to the 27-year-old.

Earlier today, Harrell posted this fairly innocuous statement about modern life, stating that a second income stream might be important for most people in this topsy-turvy world we live in:

Of course, many pundits and trolls responded with derision considering the fact that he has made nearly $25 million in his career, and that he perhaps doesn’t need a second revenue stream. One such person was a certain Michael Dunlap, who had to put his account on private after criticizing the Lakers star, which led to the Harrell calling him out on Twitter:

Harrell can frankly do whatever he wants, and many players have multiple investments that serve as more than income – so Dunlap’s argument holds little water. Of course, Harrell had to defend himself from counter-trolls claiming that Dunlap had always been on private, which, of course, is not the case:

Later on, it seems as if Dunlap actually fully deleted his account after likely receiving merciless heckling from NBA fans and Trez fans. It certainly seemed to be in bad faith, especially considering Trez’s seemingly troubled posts from a few days ago.
