Los Angeles Lakers veteran point guard Rajon Rondo now ranks 20th on the NBA's all-time assists leaders list.

This accomplishment by Rondo is one of the little things the Lakers can celebrate in a season that has been filled with struggles and inconsistencies.

Rajon Rondo was brought by the Lakers last summer with high hopes that he can help the team, especially in the playoffs where he has been excellent over the past few years.

Unfortunately, the Purple and Gold are currently 10th in the West with a 30-32 record. They are in danger of making the playoffs for the sixth straight year unless they go on a huge winning streak.

Rondo has earned a reputation of playing at an elite level in the playoffs, giving birth to the so-called “Playoff Rondo.” His stints with the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans have shown what he can do when games matter the most. However, he's really not someone that can be relied on in the regular season, as his production can really be non-existent at times.

The veteran guard has also struggled to find a specific role with the Lakers, as he's been in and out of the starting line up all season. His minutes have also been up and down. One game he'll play close to 49 minutes, then he might not see more than 10 minutes in the next.

Still, Rondo is undoubtedly one of the best point guards in the league, and his championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 is a testament to that.
