The writing appears to be on the wall for Russell Westbrook as a Los Angeles Laker. His latest move on social media seems to confirm that.

Save for his profile picture, Westbrook has appeared to wipe his Instagram clean of any Lakers content.

The last post he has left on it is from September 9, 2018. That predates not just his stint with the Lakers, but also his time with the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards as well.

The 2018-19 season was his last with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Brodie is likely yearning for better days when he was the dearly beloved son of the first franchise he ever played for. Russell Westbrook remains a iconic figure in OKC, which is a far cry from what he slowly turned into while wearing the purple and gold. His poor play was evident and drew the ire of Lakers fans, but that came in large part due to a lack of chemistry, injuries to key players, and just a overall bad fit with LeBron James that many called before they ever shared the court together.

But Russell Westbrook is still a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA. All signs seem to point to a trade brewing in the offseason, hopefully to a team that will enable him to play to his strengths once again. His Lakers stint will not define his career, and it appears he's not even letting it blemish his Instagram page, either.
