Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers lost another game on Christmas to the Brooklyn Nets, who were without Kevin Durant, 122-115.

LeBron James was still able to do his usual thing for the Lakers as he went 14-25 from the field with 39 points and was the only plus in the plus-minus category for the Lakers' starting five. Westbrook, on the other hand, went an embarrassing 4-20 from the field and was -23 in the game. He did finish with a triple-double still.

Former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy took to Twitter after the Christmas festivities and said this: “In the NBA achieving a ‘triple-double' does not mean a player played well.”

This was clearly directed towards Russell Westbrook as it was a day after his disastrous triple-double.

Westbrook is the king of triple-doubles as he holds the most in NBA history. The issue is, at times they are inefficient and don't necessarily help his team get the win. This was proven on Christmas as he was able to finish with a triple-double but still finished with the lowest plus-minus out of all of the Lakers.

Los Angeles has some issues that must be solved solved in order to be the team that many expect them to be. They're clearly not there yet to compete with the top teams in the Western Conference, such as the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. The issues have been very clear to start the season and need to be fixed as soon as possible, but not having Anthony Davis for a while won't help.
