Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson is a big fan of Los Angeles Lakers small forward Kyle Kuzma.

Thompson believes Kuzma's game is “perfect” for today's NBA since the Lakers swingman can score from the perimeter, get to the rim, and finish at the basket.

“He’s perfect for today’s game with his ability to score on the perimeter,” Thompson said, via Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times. “He’s really like a three man playing the four. He has to improve his catch-and-shoot ability a little more, obviously playing with LeBron [James] and A.D. [Anthony Davis] now, but I think he’s going to take on that third superstar role and really take off with it. He’s a very hard worker, which is what I like about him.”

Kyle Kuzma was the lone youngster on the Lakers who survived the Anthony Davis trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart were traded to the Pelicans.

The Lakers are expecting Kuzma to be their third dynamic scorer behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This past season, Kuzma averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Klay Thompson may be a fan of Kuzma, but the sharpshooter and the Warriors are likely hoping Kuzma and the Lakers struggle to win the Western Conference next season. The West is loaded, with the Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Warriors and Utah Jazz all pegged to be elite teams.

Thompson will probably be out until February or March with his ACL tear, but the Warriors should still be able to compete with the Lakers and Co. since Golden State has Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and D'Angelo Russell.
