After what was a horrendous debut season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell Westbrook ended up on the receiving end of a ton of criticism from fans and the media alike. So much so, that some folks mercilessly gave Russ the moniker “Westbrick.”

For those that require context, “Westbrick” is a reference to the Lakers point guard's tendency to miss his shots badly, or in basketball vernacular, to shoot bricks. Well, it seems that this is exactly what Woj had in mind on a recent ESPN live broadcast:

Yes, you heard that right. Woj really said “Westbrick” in referencing the Lakers star — on a live broadcast, no less. It was as clear as day. The worst (or funniest, depending on where you're sitting) part here is how Woj didn't even correct himself. Either he was doing damage control or he didn't notice his slip at all. I don't know which is worse.

The good news for Westbrook is that he chance to redeem himself this coming season with new Lakers head coach Davrin Ham at the helm. Ham has already spoken about Russ' importance for the squad, and it sounds like Westbrook has been given a new lease on life.
