The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly believe Kyrie Irving will sign with the Brooklyn Nets once free agency starts on Sunday, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

After clearing up a third max slot on Thursday by agreeing to a trade with the Washington Wizards, reports surfaced the Lakers want to add Irving or Kawhi Leonard.

It looks like Irving's old teammate on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lakers star LeBron James, knows Uncle Drew is heading to Brooklyn.

Irving is widely expected to sign a four-year deal worth $141 million with the Nets. The Lakers now have to hope they can sign Leonard, otherwise they will probably split up that cap space on second-tier players to fill out the roster, although Jimmy Butler could still be in play for the Purple and Gold.

It would have been a fascinating storyline to see Irving and James back together in Los Angeles. The two stars were a lethal duo together on the Cavs and won the 2016 championship over the Golden State Warriors in seven games.

Irving to the Nets has been the NBA's worst kept secret for some time now, though. Kyrie grew up in New Jersey and was a Nets fan. The Lakers will have to address their void at point guard in some other way.
