If the Los Angeles Lakers fire head coach Luke Walton, former Golden State Warriors coach and current ESPN TV analyst Mark Jackson reportedly could be his replacement.

According to Chris Sheridan of Get More Sports, Lakers co-owner Jeanie Buss is a big fan of Luke Walton and has supported him from day one. However, there has been talk that president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka might want to hire their own coach.

Both Johnson and Pelinka joined Los Angeles' front office after Luke Walton was hired.

The Lakes enter Friday with a record of 20-15, good for fifth place in the Western Conference standings.

Whenever LeBron James is on your team, the head coach is always going to be under fire. That's just how things work. Just ask former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt who was fired halfway into his second season as the man in charge of the Cavs.

If you are not meeting expectations and winning games with James on your roster, you are likely going to get fired.

So far, it doesn't appear James has any problems with the way Walton is coaching the team. Odds are that the brass in Los Angeles will likely want to see how Walton does this season before they make any drastic moves or changes.
