In his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis is having an MVP-caliber year so far through 29 games. On Thursday night, the big man faced off against Giannis Antetokounmpo, the presumptive choice to repeat as MVP after a brilliant campaign last year.

Though Antetokounmpo had a strong game, Davis was able to catch the Greek Freak with a bruising dunk late in the 4th quarter.

As you can see by the score, this dunk was something of a cosmetic achievement, as the Bucks were able to hold on and defeat the Lakers by a final margin of 111 to 104. Despite catching an “L,” Davis was brilliant against Milwaukee – finishing with 36 points on 11 of 25 shooting (including 14 of 17 from the line) with 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks in 43 minutes.

Despite that strong game, it seems likely that AD would’ve preferred to leave with a win.
