Detroit Lions' quarterback Jared Goff will miss the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns, but it is also likely that he will be unavailable against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving day. The Lions have opted to go with back-up Tim Boyle today, and will consider him for the following game against the Bears if he does well. Goff has been out with an oblique injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

The former Ram isn't off to the best start this season, with eight touchdown passes, and six interceptions in nine games. Additionally, he has yet to garner his team a win, as Detroit is 0-8-1 this year. The former Pro-Bowler is in serious jeopardy of losing his spot as the starting quarterback, as Tim Boyle could ultimately take his spot after a couple of good games.

It will be Boyle's first career start, and a chance to prove to the Lions' organization that he could possibly be the quarterback going forward. Though Detroit has a lot of money tied to Goff, the Lions could be willing to look for alternative options. If the Boyle-led Lions somehow come out victorious against the Browns on Sunday for their first win of the season, there could be a serious dilemma for the team regarding the quarterback position.
