Liverpool striker Mo Salah is one of the most in-form players in the world right now and he's looking to get rewarded. According to Football Insider, the Egyptian wants a new extension at Anfield worth around 500,000 pounds per week.

Salah's current contract runs until the summer of 2023, but he's made it clear that he would like to finish his career with Liverpool. However, there has been no shortage of interest from other European giants, most notably Real Madrid. Salah solidified his importance to Jurgen Klopp's squad on Sunday as he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 dismantling of rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. In the process, Salah became the all-time leading African goal-scorer in the Premier League, surpassing Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

It was also the 10th straight appearance that Salah has found the back of the net for Liverpool and took him to a mind-boggling 15 goals in 12 games this term. If the Merseysiders did award him with his desired amount of money, he would become the highest-paid earner in club history.

Negotiations will shift back to the Fenway Sports Group in Boston, but at this point, there hasn't been any notable progress. But after Jurgen Klopp hailed the 29-year-old as the “best player in the world”, the Liverpool board would be foolish to not hand Salah a hefty payday.

The Reds have already extended the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Jordan Henderson. Salah would certainly be the icing on the cake given his consistent contributions in the final third.
