It was an embarrassing showing from the Texas Longhorns on Saturday in their blowout loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Steve Sarkisian's squad was trolled big time on social media after losing to an SEC school; the conference they will be joining soon.

On Monday, Texas announced that Casey Thompson would be starting Week 3 over Hudson Card.

Via on3.com, Sarkisian explained the switch in starting quarterbacks for Texas.

“Casey will start this week at quarterback,” Sarkisian said during his opening statement. “Hudson will play, very similar to the same format we had when Hudson started and Casey would play. I feel good about that. Both guys have been battling. Both guys keep competing.

“I feel like it’ll be good for Hudson to take a little bit of a deep breath coming off last week’s game. It’ll be a great opportunity for Casey to step in and battle and compete with the ones early on in the ballgame. I feel good about that.”

Card struggled big time against Arkansas. His final numbers were 8/15 for 61 yards and no touchdowns. Card had 13 yards rushing on 8 carries for Texas as well.

Thompson came in for the Longhorns and wasn't much better behind a struggling Texas offensive line.

Things got off to a smooth start in the Sarkisian era after they knocked off then No. 23 Louisiana by a final score of 38-18. After the 40-21 stomping by Arkansas, Texas will look to take out a lot of their anger on Rice in Week 3.
