The main man of the Dallas Mavericks in Luka Doncic will reportedly opt to go with the flow regarding the controversial All-Star Game this season, as per Brad Townsend.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James along with the other marquee stars of the league already expressed their disapproval of the ongoing plans to push through with the exhibition match on March 7 in Atlanta.

James initially sparked the discussion on the viability of an All-Star Game amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The four-time NBA MVP claimed that he has ‘zero energy' for the game and the ongoing plans to stage the event were ‘a slap in the face'.

Another top player of the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks also echoed James' statements regarding the All-Star Game. Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox voiced his concerns as well and felt that having the exhibition game is ‘stupid', especially after seeing the ravaging effects of the pandemic.

Despite the resistance from the league's top players, the NBA is still leaning to push through with the event. This year's festivities will reportedly be condensed to a one-day event and will feature the main All-Star Game along with a couple of skills competitions.

Luka Doncic already booked a trip to the first All-Star Game of his young career last season. He will vie for his second straight appearance after a strong performance in the first half of the 2020-21 season. The Slovenian is currently averaging norms of 27.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 9.5 assists in 23 appearances this season.
