Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz is relieved to have teammate Jonathan Isaac back on the court. The big man will be good to go once the 2019-20 season officially resumes on July 31 at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Isaac, who was enjoying a career year prior to his injury, played his first game back since January. He gave the Magic a massive boost in their 110-104 scrimmage win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

“It's huge,” Fultz said of Isaac's return, via ESPN's Nick Friedell.

“I think a lot of us were just thinking about that, him being injured, you don't want to have him rush to be here because you know how much he loves the game. So just seeing how dedicated he was to work hard — as you hear him talk about, he had to do two-a-days, just seeing it pay off, I think that's the biggest thing … I think everybody's just really excited. You could hear it as soon as he checked in — everybody was super excited. And then to see him play like that was even bigger. I'm pretty sure that took a big load off everybody's back,” he added.

Magic head coach Steve Clifford was understandably cautious playing Isaac. The lengthy defender played for just 7 minutes and sat on the bench for the rest of the way.

Still, the lanky 22-year-old made the most of his limited playing time. Isaac recorded 13 points on an efficient 5-for-6 shooting from the field. He also added seven rebounds, one steal, and two assists to go along with the offensive production. Most importantly, the Magic were +18 with him on the floor.

Before injuring his knee on New Year's Eve, Isaac averaged career-highs across the board with 12.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 32 games. He was also in consideration for the DPOY award after tallying 1.6 steals and 2.4 blocks.

The Magic (30-35), meanwhile, certainly need Isaac's overall defensive presence as they try to hang on to the eighth and final playoff seed in the East.
