Orlando Magic star center Nikola Vucevic will not play versus the San Antonio Spurs after the birth of his first child. Vucevic welcomed his baby boy, Flip, on Monday, and will be with his wife and child for the days to come.

OrlandoMagic.com's John Denton tweeted out this development from the Magic camp.

Vucevic is having a career season for the Magic this year. The Montenegrin big man is sporting impressive averages of 20.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting an outstanding 40% clip from beyond the arc.

Along with Vucevic's brilliance is the Magic's surprisingly good start to the season. Owning a 14-15 record, the team is currently sitting in a playoff spot in the East. They have beaten contending teams including a season sweep of LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers and a close win over Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics.

Steve Clifford, the Magic's first-year head coach, knows that Vucevic is the centerpiece of the team's offensive schemes. He had heaps of praises for the sweet-shooting center, per Paolo Uggetti of The Ringer.

“Inside and outside,” Orlando’s first-year head coach says of the way Vucevic’s game has impressed him so far. “And it’s not just his scoring, it’s his passing ability and skill level that creates space for his teammates.”

Vucevic's shooting efficiency (54%) forces opponents to commit on his multi-dimensional scoring package, causing the defense to sag on his teammates. The 28-year old soon-to-be-All-Star doesn't just shoot the ball well, but he can also dish off accurate assists.
