The Orlando Magic have had yet another horrid season and will finish in the lottery hoping to select another young star in this year's NBA Draft. Unfortunately, this comes as the team has a 21-51 record with just 10 games left to play in the season with no clear direction moving forward.

In fact, Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that the Magic will likely opt to release head coach Frank Vogel following the 2017-18 season and go in a different direction from the two-time Eastern Conference finalist.

Orlando’s ongoing malaise, especially after the promise of an unexpected 8-4 start, make it a widely held assumption in coaching circles that Vogel will be dismissed after the franchise’s sixth successive season out of the playoffs.

Despite the growth of players like Aaron Gordon and Mario Hezonja, the Magic have been tied for last in the NBA in points per game this season and also give up the sixth most points per game in the NBA.

Under coach Vogel, the Orlando Magic have compiled a 50-104 record over the last two seasons and have not been taken seriously by any measure. These last two years, however, are just a part of a six year stretch for the Magic where they've compiled a 153-329 record, averaging a little over 25 wins per season.
