Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant sent shockwaves across the NBA world on Thursday, as he reportedly requested a trade from the team. Multiple players have taken to social media to react to the bombshell news, including Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero.

On Instagram, Banchero made a pitch to Durant, as he posted a photoshopped picture of himself and the 12-time All-Star in Magic jerseys.

ESPN analyst Richard Jefferson wasted no time in providing Banchero with a wake-up call on his Durant trade dream. During ESPN’s NBA free agency special broadcast, Jefferson noted that if the Magic were somehow able to pull off a blockbuster move for Durant, the rookie forward would be heading the other way.

The Magic are not among the teams that Durant reportedly would be open to moving to. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the two-time NBA champion would welcome a trade to the likes of the Phoenix Suns or the Miami Heat.

The Nets reportedly do not have a preference on just where they want to send Durant off to, whether in the Eastern Conference or the Western Conference. They have an aim to accept the “best possible deal” for the two-time NBA Finals MVP winner.

From the Magic’s standpoint, they may have what it takes to muster up a formidable offer to the Nets for Durant. Magic general manager John Hammond could possibly have five first-round picks over the next three NBA drafts, and the roster is currently filled with multiple promising talents, from Banchero to Franz Wagner.

In the unpredictable NBA, never say never to this possible move.
