With the Manchester derby right around the corner, Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has asked United fans to back the team amid the club's internal struggles.

There's a lot at stake for both United and Manchester City aside from bragging rights. For United, a win at Old Trafford launches the team back into title contention—they'll be on level-pegging with City if they manage to secure all 3 points. Additionally, a win will relieve some pressure off of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's shoulders—who still appears to be under fire despite leading Group F in the UEFA Champions League

On the other hand, Pep Guardiola and his squad will be eager to bounce back from last week's loss at the Etihad Stadium to Crystal Palace. A win away from home keeps City within arm's reach from Chelsea—who currently have a 5-point lead on the defending Premier League Champions.

Though it may be difficult especially with United seemingly unstable at the moment, Cavani was quick to urge the fans to carry on their support for the team.

Via Manchester Evening News:

“Have faith in their team,” the veteran striker told United Review.

“And have faith in the players who, without a doubt, will be trying hard to perform well and to keep growing and improving so that the faith that they’ve shown us, we might be able to, as they say, pay it back with good results, hard work and by winning stuff.

With both Manchester United and Manchester United vying for an important win, football fans around the world should expect an exciting high-stakes tension-filled Manchester Derby this weekend.
