One of the most intriguing storylines entering the postseason is the playoffs debut of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic. Now in his second year in the league, the reigning Rookie of the Year is set to get his first taste of NBA Playoffs basketball, which according to some of his former EuroLeague colleagues is something that Doncic will be more than ready for.

Kyle Hines, an American center who plies his trade in the EuroLeague and once faced off with Doncic in the league's playoffs, shared his experience in dealing with the young Serb not too long ago. According to Hines, they were all taken aback by how Doncic took the Euroleague playoffs by storm.

“To dominate Europe on those big teams was something that’s never been done. Nobody, never at his age, had ever done that,” Hines said. “That’s when I knew that he was special.”

Hines even shared how their game plan was to “beat up Doncic” — a plan that ultimately failed. Luka Doncic did not mind the physicality and ended up carrying Real Madrid to the 2018 EuroLeague title back in 2018. In the process, Doncic did not only win the regular season MVP, but he also finished his campaign as the Final Four MVP. He was 18 at that time.

Technically, Doncic will be playing in his first playoffs series in the NBA. However, it's not as if he doesn't have the experience at this stage. The Mavs will be pitted against the second-placed Los Angeles Clippers in the West, and while they will be the underdogs against one of the favorites to go all the way this season, Dallas will always have a shot so long as Doncic is on the floor.
