Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are the underdogs in their playoff series with the Phoenix Suns, and that stays the same as they head to Arizona for the do-or-die Game 7.

While the Mavs have won three of their last four games in the series against the Suns, there is no doubt that they are facing an uphill battle in their bid to make the Western Conference Finals. Not only are they playing the best regular season team in 2021-22, but history also does not side with them as they go on the road for the decider.

As Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News noted, road teams in the NBA playoffs have only won 23.2 percent of Game 7s. The current record stands at 109-33, with the home team winning 76.8 percent of the time.

If you add that to the fact that the Mavs have not won against the Suns at Footprint Center, then the chances of Dallas to get out with the W are really slim.

But then again, it should be noted that Dallas has undoubtedly the best player of the series in Luka Doncic. The Slovenian wonderboy is averaging 32.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.2 steals against the Suns so far, and he'll certainly pose major problems for the top seeds come Sunday.

The Mavs are heading to the biggest game of their lives so far, and while history is against them, they won't go down without a fight.
