One of the biggest decisions the Dallas Mavericks need to make this offseason is with regards to the future of Kristaps Porzingis. Several fans and experts alike think his time with the Mavs has come to an end and urge the franchise to trade him. However, for new general manager Nico Harrison, that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

In a recent interview on 105.3 The Fan, Harrison talked about Porzingis' future with the Mavs and the potential of his partnership with All-Star guard Luka Doncic. Harrison appeared to hint they have no plans to trade the Latvian, adding that he predicts the big man will thrive under Jason Kidd.

“I'm actually excited about Kristaps. I think he's finally healthy. I think what Jason Kidd is gonna bring, in terms of communication and really wrapping his arms around people, I honestly think he's really going to flourish in the system Jason Kidd is going to bring,” Harrison said.

As for his pairing with Luka, the new Mavs GM actually thinks their skills fit perfectly. While there have been a lot of questions about their chemistry (or the lack thereof), Nico Harrison emphasized that all what they need to do is put Kristaps Porzingis in a good position to succeed alongside their Slovenian superstar.

The skill set that he brings matches with Luka, but I also think that the thing about Kristaps is … people put a lot on him in terms of the reason why their season ended but he was doing what he was told to do. He’s actually a team player and I think we’re just gonna put him in position to succeed,” Harrison added, via Dallas Morning News.

True enough, there were a lot of hype when the Mavs paired Doncic with Porzingis. While it has not yet yielded any significant results, it is also important to note that KP hasn't been really fully healthy.

Hopefully he'll be able to play in a full season and just see how his pairing with Doncic works. Both players can be an in-and-out threat together, which is certainly what the Mavs are hoping for.
