Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic didn't play Sunday night against the LA Clippers due to a strained right hip, and Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle says he's not 100 percent sure if the 19-year-old will play Tuesday versus the Portland Trail Blazers.

While Rick Carlisle says Luka Doncic is feeling better, he can't ascertain if the Slovenian teenager will be able to suit up when they host Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum and the rest of the Portland squad at American Airlines Center.

There was a lot of hype surrounding Doncic when he came over from Real Madrid and, somehow, he has managed to live up to it with the Mavs. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft is averaging 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game this season while shooting 44.3 percent from the field, 38.2 percent from beyond the arc and 79.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Sunday's game against the Clippers was the first game that Doncic missed this year. The Mavs are 11-10 on the season entering Monday, good for eighth place in the Western Conference. Doncic's stellar play is a major reason why Dallas has gotten off to a surprising start this year.

We will likely have more info on Doncic's playing status on Tuesday.
