Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic admitted to a neck issue that bothered him throughout Game 3; however, he is confident it won't be a long-term problem.

During the second half of the contest against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Mavs star was spotted getting treatment on his left shoulder area. He even had the areas wrapped later on, raising concerns that he has sustained a shoulder injury.

Nonetheless, according to Doncic, he had this “weird” feeling on his neck–not the shoulder–that he had to get it checked.

“It's just weird,” the Mavs point guard explained, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know how you call it. It’s just some massage, some rest, and hopefully we're good.”

Luka Doncic got off to a hot start against the Clippers–scoring 11 points in the opening frame anchored on a personal 8-0 run–and it didn't look like the neck issue affected him that much as he finished with 44 points on 15-of-28 shooting. However, he was horrendous from the foul line where he went 7-of-13 in the game.

While the issue doesn't look like it will linger further come Sunday for Game 4, there's no doubt the Mavs will be a bit cautious on Luka in the next couple of days. The Slovenian youngster carried the offensive burden for Dallas in the first three games, and it's clear he needs some help if they want to protect their lead and move on to the next round.

Hopefully, the 22-year-old guard will be 100 percent healthy when they play the Clippers in Game 4 before the series heads back to Staples Center.
