The NBA has officially booked its participants for the 2019 NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest, and Dallas Mavericks rookie guard Luka Doncic has already placed his money on Dennis Smith Jr.

Doncic, like most of us, believes that his former teammate will be taking home the dunking crown at the festivities this year.

Smith, 21, has already shown off his rim rattling ability, but what will ultimately distinguish him from the rest of the pack is his just how creative he ends up being with his attempts.

Dallas recently traded Smith, DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews and two future first-round picks as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and Courtney Lee to Dallas.

In what was an eerie second season with the Mavs over 32 games played, Smith still found a way to average 12.9 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per contest.

All-Star Saturday Night's main event will also feature Charlotte Hornets rookie forward Miles Bridges, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo, and Atlanta Hawks athletic big man John Collins.

There is absolutely no reason why any of these dunkers will fail to get the Charlotte crowd off their feet on Feb. 16., but when it comes to Dennis Smith Jr., perhaps Doncic knows something that we don't.
