If you think that Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is somewhere out there sulking in a corner over another early exit from the NBA Playoffs, then you probably have no idea that FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament games are going on right now. The Mavs' superstar is currently leading the Slovenian national basketball team's mission to secure a berth in the upcoming 2021 Tokyo Olympics, which kicks off later this month.

Doncic is probably using his pent-up NBA playoffs disappointments to further motivate him in the qualifiers. In his latest show of might on the international stage, Doncic went off in Slovenia's win over Venezuela on Saturday, 98-70.

Prior to that, Doncic helped Slovenia blast Poland with a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists in a 112-77 victory. The game has become so easy for Doncic. Even though he was not able to steer the Mavs past the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, falling prey in seven games to the Los Angeles Clippers, Doncic will always have a big role on any team he plays for, whether for Dallas or Slovenia.

Luka Doncic will have a shot at an NBA championship next season, but a chance to lead Slovenia to the Olympics only comes every four years (the current cycle is at five no thanks to the pandemic) so expect him to play all out in the finals against either Lithuania or Poland.
