Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic started out steaming hot on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, draining his first eight 3-point attempts. Swingman Josh Richardson was so impressed by Doncic's hot streak that he didn't bother going for the offensive rebound.

Per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News. Richardson admitted to forgetting the fundamentals of boxing out after a shot.

“It was like I wasn't even crashing [the boards] anymore. It was like when he shot it I was running back on defense. He's special, man. Not a lot of guys that can find that groove that he did tonight. Yeah, he was in a zone.”

Below is some evidence supporting Richardson's claims. He's the one donning the no. 0 jersey and is at standing at the left-wing. After Doncic launched his dreaded step-back 3-pointer, notice that Richardson was already walking to the other side of the floor.

Below is Doncic's eighth 3-pointer in eight attempts. Unfortunately, he missed his next attempt but he still finished the game 8-for-9 from downtown. All in all, he had 37 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. His performance was more than enough to give the Mavericks a 132-92 victory.

Richardson himself deserves some praise as he was the second-best scorer for the Mavs with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 from deep.

Time and time again, Luka Doncic continues to impress fans with his spectacular play. Analysts were right in claiming that Doncic is the next big star of the league. It would be interesting to see what Doncic has in store next.
